Nirvana. Game Boys. Nick Carter. Pagers. Weezer.

Rapper/singer Nova Rockafeller takes a trip down memory lane on her phat single, 1990s, now posted on YouTube.

“Don’t kill my teen spirit / We are the children of the 1990s,” she bellows on the snappy, let’s-get-the-weekend-started pop-rock track, fueled by swirly burbles and alt-rock riffs.

The lyric video, which she co-directed, is also pretty dope, featuring Rockafeller as a character in a video game — with references to flannel shirts, Jurassic Park, Home Alone, and Saved By The Bell, interspersed with footage from her own home videos.

Woah.

The MC, who was born in 1988, admits she wasn’t intentionally trying to write a ‘90s anthem. She wanted to pen a “love letter to to all the things that made me the cool motherf—– I am now,” she posts on her website.

Rockafeller, who grew up in Edmonton and Jamaica, now lives in Los Angeles, where she’s working on an album for Boardwalk/Mercury with Justin Warfield of goth-pop duo She Wants Revenge.

Could this be the year of the super-Nova?
